Katie Stephens has been involved
with horses for 22 years, starting at the age of 6.
She
was born in 1980, was educated at Pocklington School
and did a degree at Oxford Brookes. She finished her full time education in
2003 and has now become a partner at Moor Farm and is managing the horse
enterprise.
She came up through the
ranks of Pony Club and has had many years of instruction from some of the
top trainers in Yorkshire. She competed in JRNs, 3 day events up to CCI level and has represented Great Britain on the Student Rider team in Holland, Ireland and Norway where the team won a Bronze medal.
More recently she has chaperoned a
PC Hunting Exchange to the USA in 2006. This has led on to being invited
back to America in 2007, 2008 and 2009 to teach youngsters. She was Chef d'Equipe at the
University Equestrian World Games and was the highest placed British rider
at the Belgian SRNC 2006.
All her horses are self
produced, which shows the amount of time and expertise she has put into them.
It is with this solid
grounding and experience, that Katie is now able to pass on her skills to
young and mature riders, and has the ability to source the right pony or horse for a
rider's abilities so that they can progress and be as safe as possible.
Katie loves teaching and
has got a special knack with youngsters. This has led to her being in great
demand at the Pony Club rallies which she thoroughly enjoys.
